Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret L. Musgrave, age 73 of Salesville will be Sunday 3:00 p.m., at the Roller Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Newman officiating. Pallbearers will be Rich Santora, Joe Santora, Kevin Johnson, Joshua Bennett, Nick Nugent, Jim Bennett and Tommy Parkalob. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Hart, Logan Hart and Connor Hart. Visitation will be Saturday, 12-9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Roller Funeral Home. Mrs. Musgrave passed away March 9 at her residence.
Margaret L. Musgrave was born July 23, 1931 in New Madrid, MO to Walter William and Janie Lee (Holligan) Fox. She married John Paul Musgrave July 9, 1966 in LaGrange, IL. As a young woman, Marge was ever adventurous. She learned to fly an airplane, ride Harley motorcycles and race stockcars, as well as coaching her son’s little league teams and bowling on a weekly mixed league.
After working in restaurant management for many years she switched careers and worked for Santa Fe railroad as a demerge / yard clerk. In 1976 she and her husband retired to Salesville where they purchased the Oak Park Motel. During this time she was a volunteer firefighter and an E.M.T. for 10 years. Along with running the motel, she also started a very successful career as an antique dealer.
During her later years, she continued her antique business, was an avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles, liked to crochet, go to Bingo on Saturday nights, and most of all, loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Margaret L. Musgrave is survived by her husband of 39 years, John Paul Musgrave. Daughters: Phyllis Bennett of Joliet, IL, Linda (Don) Johnson of Willowbrook, IL, Tena (Chic) Johnson of Calico Rock, Paula (Mike) Bennett of Mountain Home, Lisa (Brian) Hart of Flippin. Sons: Michael (Melissa) Simundic of Norfork and Edward (Donna) Simundic of Darien, IL, 21 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, one brother: Robert Fox of London, KY and one sister Bernice Cowan of New Madrid, MO and dear friend Joan McGee of Mountain Home. Mrs. Musgrave was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Barbara McCarthy, brother, Connie Fox and sister Dorothy Bowen.
