Arthur Jefferies Murphree, 84, 415 1/2 Alcorn St., Hot Springs, died Thursday in a Booneville hospital. Mr. Murphree was a former resident of El Dorado. He was a native of Birmingham, Ala., but had resided in Hot Springs for the past 30 years. He was a retired telegrapher for the Rock Island Lines, and a member of the Central Baptist Church. Survivors include two brothers, John T. Murphree, Wilmont, and C. C. Murphree, El Dorado; and one sister, Mrs. H. F. Johnson, Pine Bluff. Funeral services were held Saturday at Caruth Funeral Home Chapel in Hot Springs with the Rev. James E. Hill, pastor of Central Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery.
