Mrs. T. J. Ashley

On Saturday, Sept. 7th, Mrs. T. J. Ashley of Violet Hill, died in Oklahoma City, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. C. Jacobs, where she had spent the past few months.

Mrs. Ashley had been in declining health for some time. She was taken to the Mayo hospital at Rochester, Minn., for treatment a few months ago and later went to Oklahoma City.

She has lived in this county nearly all her life and was loved and respected by all for her true Christian spirit. Her death was not unexpected.

Besides her husband, she leaves three sons; Judge John C. Ashley of Melbourne, Roger Ashley of Little Rock and William Ashley of Tuckerman and two daughters – Mrs. Cora Johnson of Tuckerman and Mrs C. R. Jacobs of Oklahoma City.

Interment was at Violet Hill cemetery Tuesday, the 9th, funeral services being conducted by Elder Porterfield.
