William Edward Bishop was born in Chattanoga, Tennessee March 7, 1931. He passed away at his home in Mt. View Tuesday, August 27, at the age of 60 years. He was a seaman, a disabled veteran and he received the Purple Heart, Silver Star, Parachute Wings, Combat Infantry Badge, two combat stars, the Korean Service Medal and others. He was a member of the Calico Rock Baptist Church and the Blue Mountain Masonic Lodge 202.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Bishop of Mt. View; three sons, Billy Dale Bishop, Bobby Ace Bishop and Barre D. Bishop, all of Ft. Worth, Texas; two daughters, Rhonda Kim Crump of Mt. View and Tina Paulette Havner of Norfork; one brother, Jimmy Bishop of Galveston, Texas; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services were Friday, August 30, at 10AM at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with Wade Moser officiating. Music was by the Calico Rock Baptist Church Singers.
Pallbeareres were the Masonic Lodge members. Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Crump and Jim Mitchell. Interment was at Galatia Cemetery at Norfork with full military honors. Arrangements were by Coffman Funeral Home.

MAN DIED IN SHOOTING INCIDENT

A local man died August 27, from what appears to be a self-infliced bullet wound, Stone Count Sheriff Bill Long reported.
William Edward Bishop, 60, of HC 72, Mt. View died after being shot with a pistol.
The Sheriff's Office had not yet received the State Medical Examiner's report concerning the death Monday.
Funeral services were held August 30.
