Gwendolyn Lawrence Mathis, 65, of Melbourne, widow of Gerald B. Mathis died March 26, 1991 in a Batesville hospital. She was born in Melbourne, the daughter of Max and Ella Smith Lawrence. She was a homemaker and a member of the Belview Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers; Malcolm Lawrence, and Doyle Lawrence both of Melbourne and one sister, La Nellie Hall of Olathe, Kansas.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Belview Baptist Church with Tim Porter and Dan McGee officiating. Pallbearers were David Cooper, Loy Lawrence, Kenneth Wiles, Tate Lawrence, Jr., Bob Lawrence and Wayne Weaver. Burial was in the Violet Hill Cemetery with arrangements made by the Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.
