Dale W. Downs, 71, of Spiro died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, in a local hospital. He was retired from Whirlpool, of the Baptist faith, a member of Murrow Lodge No. 49 in Spiro, a resident of Spiro since 1959. He was preceded in death by both parents, Gaylord and Minnie Howell Downs.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Steward Cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Downs of the home; three sons, Jimmy Downs of Elk City, Okla., Kenny Downs of Spiro, Tommy Downs of Fort Smith; a sister, Iris June Ramsey of Van Buren; and three grandchildren, Kendall Downs of Fort Smith, Ashley and Brock Downs, both of Elk City, Okla.; and a very special little girl, Ryleigh.
Pallbearers: J.W. Thompson, Floyd Carlton, Bobby Burkhart, Bill Randolph, Jerry Don Testerman, Bruce Miller.
