SMITH, Mary A. - {from Silent Grove} Mrs. Mary A. Smith, 91 years of age, died Saturday afternoon at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, with whom she had made her home for a number of years. Burial was in Silent Grove cemetery Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. Joe English of Lowell. Deceased was a native of Tennessee, born Jan. 18, 1834 and had spent the past 41 years in this community. Her husband died some years ago. She is survived by four daughters, five sons and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Six children preceded their mother in death. The children present at the funeral were Mrs. Julia McDaniel of near Rogers, Mrs. J.W. Pogue of Springdale, John Smith of Springdale, James Smith of Texas and George Smith. Those unable to be present were Billie Smith of Goad Springs, who was very sick with the flu, Grant Smith of Pocatello, Idaho and two daughters who reside in Tennessee. The Deceased had been a member of the Missionary Baptist church for a number of years. Just before the end came she bade her loved ones goodbye and told them she was going home to be with Jesus.

SMITH,Asberry - Asberry Smith, (from Silent Grove) Died, at his home near this place on Monday, the 8th, Uncle Asberry Smith, an old and highly respected citizen of this community, having lived here 25 years. He was born in Tennessee in 1831, was converted and joined the Separate Baptist church in 1850 and endeavored to live a christian life until his death. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Vaughan in 1852 and to them were born 15 children, 10 of whom are living. They were all present at this funeral except one son who resides in Idaho. The relatives have the heartfelt sympathy of the community in this, their great loss. Services were conducted by Bro. Elmer Rice of Springdale.
