John Turner Wier, 61, Rt. 10 Fayetteville, died May 31 at a Fayetteville hospital. Born Jan. 6, 1914 at Brentwood, he was the son of Tan and Sarah Southern Wier, a retired auto mechanic and member of the Pentecostal Temple Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 1, formerly serving as master and secretary, and was a member of Shelton-Tucker American Legion Post. No. 28, of which he was past commander.
Survivors include his wife, Millie Harding Wier of the home; one son, Dexton Wier of the home; and a daughter, Lexie of the home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Pentecostal Temple Church under the direction of Moore's Chapel. Burial will be in Rose Cemetery with Rev. Otha Tackett officiating.
