APPLE VALLEY, Calif. -- Alvie Lee Light, 81, died Dec. 27 at Apple Valley, Calif.

Formerly of Strangers Home community, he had lived in California for many years. He was a retired Navy chief petty officer.

He is survived by his wife, Eva M. Light of Apple Valley; two daughters, Charlotte Roddy and Deborah Light, both of Apple Valley; one son, Michael Light of Diamond Bar, Calif.; one brother, Buford Light of Hoxie; two sisters, Mildred Light of Black Rock and Ruby Nell Light of Walnut Ridge; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge with Don House officiating. Burial will follow in Strangers Home Cemetery near Alicia. Military rites will be accorded at the cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Billy Light, Gary Light, Larry Light, Lavon Light, Ronnie "Frog" Light and James Lavelle Light.
