11 Apr 1897 - 07 Mar 1917

Wife of Albert W. Baty
Daughter of Andrew Manley and Martha Catherine Brown Jackson

Mrs. Thelma Baty, wife of Albert Baty and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Jackson, was born April 5, 1897 near Hamil and died at her home near Portia on March 7, 1917. She leaves a dear husband and babe, father, mother, three brothers, three sisters and a host of relatives and friends to mourn for her. She was married to Albert Baty, July 8,1915. She was laid to rest at Antioch, Thursday and funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.A. Allison. Aunt was a dedicated to her Lord, having professed hope in Christ when 15 years old, and was a faithful member of the Missionary Baptist Church until her death. She was a obedient daughter and a faithful wife, it is so hard to give her up. It seems that we can hear her voice so gently. She has crossed the dark river and is now at rest. She can come to us no more but we can go to her. She has gone and left us and we know that we shall soon meet her again in that happy land where parting will never come. Weep not for her, dear ones for we know she is at rest, but let us be prepared for the white winged angels call, and meet our loved one in the golden strand.
"A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled," Her Niece
