Leroy Franklin Williams, 84, of Alicia, died Oct. 4, 2007, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.

Born April 28, 1923, at Pleasant Plains, he was the son of Grover and Myrtle Webster Williams.

He was a World War II Army veteran, where he served as a tech 5 signal corporal in the Pacific Theatre. He received the AP Theatre Ribbon, the Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Ribbon.

He was a factory worker at Victor Metal for 33 years and was a member of the Alicia Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Gene Williams, Howard Williams, Allen Williams and Charles Williams; a sister, Ruby Warren; and a granddaughter, Monetta Corbett.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Carolyn Watson Williams, whom he married Jan. 5, 1946; three sons, Ronnie Williams and wife Pam, Bono, Stanley Williams and wife Henrietta, Walnut Ridge, and Dennis Williams, of the home; a daughter, Loretta Corbett and husband Larry, Alicia; a brother, Richard Williams, Heber Springs; a sister, Beatrice Cocheran, Wilburn; four grandsons, David Corbett, Marion, Kris Williams and wife Tonya, Manila, and Joey Williams and Andy Williams, both of Walnut Ridge; two granddaughters, Rohni West and husband, Daniel, Jonesboro, and Michelle Sheets and husband Bret, Walnut Ridge; four great-grandsons, River Guthrie, Colbey Williams, Kyler Williams and Dylan Sheets; a great-granddaughter, Lydia Sheets; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service was Sunday at 2 p.m. at Strangers Home Cemetery with Monroe Baldwin officiating.

Military honors were accorded by the American Legion Picket Post #21 of Jonesboro.
Bryan Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
