Stella Marie (Smothers) Washburn the daughter of William Harvey Smothers and Caldonia (Williams) Smothers.

June 9, 1917 - March 7, 2008

Stella Marie Washburn, 90 of Conway, passed away on March 7, 2008. Born in Northfork, AR on June 9, 1917, she was the last surviving child of the late William H. and Caldonia (Williams) Smothers. Stella was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who stated her occupation as ”mishmash”. She was a homemaker who greatly enjoyed being with her family, she loved to garden, both vegetables and flowers, and was an avid Cardinals baseball fan. Her greatest accomplishment & joy was her sons.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Joe Lon Washburn, three sons: Levon, James ”J.C.” and Joe W. Washburn and two grandchildren: Sarah and Allen Washburn.

Stella is survived by her son David Washburn and his wife Letitia of Conway; a daughter-in-law: Yvonne Washburn of Illinois; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2008 at Strangers Home Cemetery in Alicia, AR. Family visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Roller McNutt Funeral home in Conway. On line guest book: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.
