Edith Littie Rountree

Edith Littie Rountree, 96, of Walnut Ridge, died Jan. 22, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She had lived in Alicia before moving to Hoxie in 1974 and later moved to Walnut Ridge. She was a homemaker and was a member of the church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Rountree; a son, Darrell Rountree; two sisters, Mildred Rogers and Ethel Chronister; a brother, Otis Holloway; and two grandchildren, Paula Rountree and Brenden Rountree.

Survivors include a daughter, Earlene Andrews, Arizona; a son, Nathan Sonny Rountree, California; two sisters, Margaret Broadway and Ann Sauls, both of Walnut Ridge; a brother, Morris Holloway, Jonesboro; eight grandchildren; 21 greatgrandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Sunday at 2 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Don R. House and Donald Layne offi ciating. Burial was in Strangers Home Cemetery, near Alicia.

Pallbearers were Zack Lawhon, Rick Stowers, Monte Weaver, Royce Lusk, John Chronister and Steve Whittaker.
