Jerry Dewayne McLaughlin the husband of Glenda (Reid) McLaughlin. Jerry Dewayne McLaughlin son of Clarence J.C. McLaughlin and Della Mae (Thompson) McLaughlin Ivey.


Jerry Dewayne McLaughlin

Jerry Dewayne McLaughlin, 52, of Hoxie, died April 1, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A lifelong resident of Lawrence County, he was a truck driver for Meadows Construction and was a member of Peoples Faith Tabernacle in Hoxie.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dale McLaughlin; his parents, Clarence and Della McLaughlin; a sister, Sharon Kay Wilson; and four brothers, Willis McLaughlin, Carl McLaughlin, David McLaughlin and Floyd McLaughlin.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Reid McLaughlin; three sons, Jeremy McLaughlin and wife Nicole, Walnut Ridge, and Anthony McLaughlin and wife Taylor and Brian McLaughlin and wife Theresa, all of Hoxie; four sisters, Carolyn Morris and husband Tom, Walnut Ridge, Lynn Walker, Williford, Betty Lee and husband Bob, Alicia, and Debbie Looney, Black Oak; two brothers, Charles McLaughlin, Egypt, and R.L. McLaughlin and wife Teresa, Oakville, Ga.; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at 2 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Roger Brand officiating. Burial was in Strangers Home Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bruce Dickens, Andy Trinidad, James Lasley, Bobby Hodge, Mike Rhodes and Bill Lester. Honorary pallbearers were Vince Piatz, Shawn Worley, Benny Overton, Chris Boozer, Jeff Hazelwood, Bobby Gates and David Gates.
