William "Bill"Adolphus Lewallen the son of James Monroe Lewallen and Charity Antoinette (Rawlings) Lewallen. Carrie Leola (Dobbs) Lewallen the daughter of Allen Hatter Dobbs and Melissa "Liss" Jane (Doyle) Dobbs.


Carrie Leola Lewallen, 97, died Dec. 29, 2006, at Randolph Nursing Center in Pocahontas.

Formerly of Hoxie, she was a retired cook and was a member of Hoxie United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lewallen; a son, Wallace Lewallen; two sisters, Ethel Lance and Bertha Lewallen; two brothers, Ernest Dobbs and Frank Dobbs; and two grandsons, Kelly Lewallen and Dale Lewallen Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Lewallen, Nelson, Ill., and Dale Lewallen, Pocahontas; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Tuesday at 11 a.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Hunter officiating.

Burial was in Strangers Home Cemetery near Alicia.

Pallbearers were Gaylon Lewallen, Chad Carlson, Casey Carlson, Jeremy Bergman, Jon James, Justice Weisenbach, Seth Jansen, Aaron Jansen, Marcus Price, T. Daniels and Bryan Hamilton.
