Ed Porter, age 79, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Monday, February 23, 2009 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was born August 16, 1929 in Henderson, Arkansas to the late Neely and Almo (Talburt) Porter.

Mr. Porter married Redith Mae Boatman June 8, 1952 in Mountain Home. He was the former owner/operator of the Porter Gulf Service Stations in Mountain Home. He attended the Henderson First Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War.

Mr. Porter is survived by a daughter: Cindy DePriest and husband Dan of Rogers, Arkansas, three sisters: Elsie Borgeson and Mary Emerson both of Henderson and Katherine Kraig of Atlanta, Georgia, three grandchildren and a great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother: David Porter.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Van Brown officiating. A visitation will be Tuesday from Noon – 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.at the funeral home. Interment will be in Custer-Herron Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Henderson First Baptist Church.

Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
