Mr. Russell "Pete" Lorton Files, age 89, of Manila, died Tuesday at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. Born at Manila Mr. Files was the son of the late James Berry Files and Mary Elizabeth Crow Files and had been a lifelong Manila area resident. He was a retired farmer and a long time member of the Blackwater Baptist Church near Manila. Pete was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be remembered by his family and friends for his great sense of humor. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Jink Louise Loveless Files in August 2000, 1 brother and 5 sisters.
Survivors include:
2 DAUGHTERS:
Donna Baugher and her husband Ken of Orange Beach, Alabama
Gena Files of Atlanta, Georgia
1 grandson, Chris Baugher and his wife Dorothy of Atlanta, Georgia
1 granddaughter , Kim Imperato and her husband Paul of Daphne, Alabama
Mr. Files also leaves 4 great grandchildren;
Charlotte Baugher, Luke Baugher, Sydney Imperato and Lanee Imperato. Also, several nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Joyce Files.
Funeral services will be 2:00 Friday at the Blackwater Baptist Church near Manila with Reverend William Piercy officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers will be Bill Anderson, Steve Baugher, Bobby Tucker, Gaylon Loveless, Durand Hatcher,and DeWayne Loveless. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Files, Jim Files, Larry Flagg, Jimmy Loveless, J.B.Simpson, Jr. Williams and Jimmy Baugher.
The family will receive visitors Thursday evening from 6-8p.m. at the church.
Mr. Files family has requested any lasting memorials may be made to the Blackwater Baptist Church.
