Elizabeth Betty L. Crayton

Elizabeth Betty L. Crayton, age 78, of Springfield, Mo., died Aug. 8, 2001, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Springfield. Mo., following a lengthy illness. Born Sept 2, 1922. at Ravenden, she was the daughter of James Maurice and Gracia Leola (Holder) Halstead.

She moved to Kankakee, Illinois, in her early married life and later moved to Springfield, Missouri. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Paul Crayton, in 1994, whom she married in 1965; two brothers, Norman Halstead and James Doyle Halstead; two half-brothers, Jessie Halstead and Ray Halstead; and three half-sisters Stella Wells, Ella Gregory and Ruby Smith.

Survivors include three sons, James Ray Davis and Billy Harold Davis, both of Springfield, M0,, and Jack Donald Davis, Yorkville, Illinois; a sister, Wanda Clements, Imboden; several grandchildren; and many great-grand-children.

Graveside service and burial were Sunday afternoon at 2 at Opposition Cemetery, near Ravenden, with Harold Littkell officiating.
Bryan Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.

Family and friends served as pallbearers.
