Mrs. J. W. Fergus Funeral Services At Elm Springs.
Funeral services for Mrs. J. W. Fergus, 94, who died early Monday at her home, were conducted Wednesday at Elm Springs, Ark., with Rev. Will Sherman of Fayetteville officiating. Burial was at Elm Springs.
A Memorial service was held at Swift’s Chapel Monday evening at which Rev. H. J. Coachman, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated. Prayer was offered by Rev. E. K. Sewell retired Methodist minister.
Mrs. Fergus, widow of Dr. J. W. Fergus, a pioneer of Elm Springs, had made her home here with her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Rhodes, Sr., for the past seven years. Born in Southwest Missouri, she moved with her family to Northwest Arkansas just after the Civil War. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
In addition to Mrs. Rhodes, she is survived by a son, William F. Fergus of Miami, Okla. she was the grandmother of J. W. Rhodes, Jr., Dane Fergus, Harold Fergus and Frank Rhodes all of Osceola.
Her grandsons served as pallbearers. Swift Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements here
