MERLE COLE
Pocahontas, AR--Merle Cole, 101, of Pocahontas, formerly of Alicia, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Randolph Home in Pocahontas. Born Feb 6, 1908 in Competition, Mo., she was a daughter of William Wesley and Mert Claxton Kimbrough.
She was a former seamstress for Van-Atkins and Graham's Department Stores and a member of the Church of Christ.
She was united in marriage to Howard L. Cole in 1928.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Howard, who died in 1957; a brother, West Kimbrough and two sons, Lewis and Bobby Warren.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Dunn of Pocahontas; a brother, Wendell Kimbrough of Pocahontas; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Chapel of Bryan Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with Don House officiating. Interment was in Strangers Home Cemetery.
