James Edward Burnside

James Edward Burnside, 76, of Spartanburg, N.C., formerly of Alicia, died June 26, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Jo Smith Burnside; a son, Johnny Burnside; his parents, Edgar and Alvia Hallmark Burnside; a brother, Tom Burnside; and a grandson.

Survivors include his children, Boyce Burnside, Tuckerman, Patricia Ergle, Harrisburg, and Tracie Baney, Jonesboro; a sister, Ellen King, Newport; and three grandchildren.

Graveside service was Monday at 10 a.m. at Strangers Home Cemetery, near Alicia, with Don House officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
