Son of Harold & Rosa Shank.
Married Christina Nicholson, 1925, Cherokee, Alfalfa County, Oklahoma.

The Baxter Bulletin, Mountain Home, Arkansas, March 17, 1944:

Melvin Shank, 52, was born August 14, 1892 at Chaney, Kansas, son of Harold and Rosa Shank. He married in 1925 at Cherokee, Oklahoma to Christina Nicholson. They had two children: Lydia Rose, a senior in High School who survives, others are his mother, Mrs. Rosa Shank of Utica, Kansas, a sister in Portland, Oregon and a brother in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a World War I Vet and was a Seventh Day Adventist. He died Friday at home in the Oakland Community.
