Junius H. Farrar died Saturday night at 11 o'clock at his home ten miles Northwest of Springdale. He had been sick for several months and his death was due to a tumor growing in his breast. Funeral services were held at the residence Sunday afternoon at half past two o'clock and were conducted by Rev. Wm. Sears of Osage. The remains were interred in the cemetery at Elm Springs Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock, services being conducted by W.H. Johnson of this place. Junius H. Farrar was born in Alabama February 12, 1823. At the age of 16 he came to Arkansas locating in Benton County where he made his home until his death. In June 1843 he was united in marriage to Miss Catherine Nail who survives him. To them nine children were born, eight boys and one girl, the latter, who together with seven sons, is now living. W.T. Farrar, the well known business man, of this place, is one of the sons. The deceased was a member of the Masonic fraternity and had been a member of the Christian Church since 1851. By industry and frugality Mr. Farrar accumulated a liberal share of the worlds goods. He was enterprising and progressive and ever ready to render assistance in all worthy movements. He had the esteem and respect of all his neighbors and leaves numerous friends to mourn his death.
