Herbert Pinkney Cantwell, 68, of Norfork died Wednesday of last week at Baxter General Hospital. A member of the Galatia Assembly of God Church near Norfork, he was a sectionman for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad and a lifetime resident of Baxter County.
Born Sep 28, 1905, in the Arkana community, Mr. Cantwell was the son of Samuel and Melissa Lyle Cantwell. He was married to Goldie Key on May 5, 1957.
Survivors include his wife, of Norfork; two sons, Elvis of Springfield, MO and Ernest of Raynham, MA; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Teague of Mt. Home, Mrs. Virginia Reeves of Liberty, MO and Mrs. Nina Hood of West Memphis; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Maxine Reppel of Willow Springs, MO, Mrs Wanda Tucker of Little Rock and Mrs. Veda Hughes of Yellville; 10 grandchildren and seven step grandchildren.
Services were conducted Friday at the Galatia Assembly of God Church with Rev Jackie Langston officiating. Interment was in the Norfork Cemetery, under the direction of the Roller Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Benny Speaks, Gene Adams, Ransom Stewart, Bob Bounds, Al Wallace and Jerry Parnell. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Fuller, Virgil Killian, Hoyt Lewis and Jerry Greer.
