Son of Elijah Harrison Jennings & Martha Melissa Tucker Jennings.
Married (1) Parthena Carroll, September 27, 1865, Jackson County, Illinois.
Married (2) Ida Lee Biggers, September 28, 1901, Baxter County, Arkansas.

Wiley Demit Jennings was born January 16, 1845 in Illinois. He was the eldest son of Elijah Harrison and Margaret Melissa Tucker Jennings. He served in the 81st and the 58th Illinois Infantry during the Civil War.

He married Parthena Carroll September 27, 1866 in Jackson County, Illinois. He and Parthena had nine children: George Elvis, James Willis, Elija Harrison, Rose Etta (married a Cypert), Richard Thomas, Martha Elizabeth (married Clarence H. Edge), Miles Washington, Wiley Wilson, and Daisy Belle (married a Linderman).

After Parthena's death, he married Ida Lee Biggers on September 28, 1901. They had two children: Naaman and Ona Mae (married Forrest Vernon Martin).

Rev. Wiley Demit Jennings was a well-known farmer and Baptist circuit preacher. He preached at Oakland, Colfax, and New Athens churches. He was injured in an accident while hauling hay on the L. G. Talburt farm, and died as a result of the accident on April 25, 1917, and was laid to rest in the Oakland Cemetery.
