Charlie H. Strain of Concord passed away last night in a Batesville hospital. He was born in Shelby County, Alabama was a farmer and Veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Essie Watson Strain of Concord; four sons; Jimmie, Weldon, Ray, and Charles all of Concord. Four daughters; Miss Brenda Strain, Mrs. Mary Waters of Rosebud, Mrs. Joyce Holt and Mrs. P. W. Reynolds of Griffithville, Ark. Three brothers; Henry Strain of Riverside, Texas; Dewey and Elbert Strain of Orange, Texas. Eight sisters; Mrs. Ludie Jackson of Hamilton, Texas; Mrs. Margaret Waldrop of Dallas, Texas; Mrs. Ollie Solomon of Orange, Texas; Miss Edna Strain, Mrs Mary Pelton, Mrs. Rose Holland, and Mrs. Bertie Harper of Conroe, Texas; Mrs. Emma McBride of Port Arthur, Texas and 12 grandchildren.
One son, Ervin C. Strain was killed durning World War II in the Phillippines.
Service will be in the General Baptist Church in Concord Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. Harrison Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery by Crouch Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Dan Grant, Vendell Rainey, Don Reed, L.C. Kelley, Clarence Brock and John D. Tucker.
