Obituary
Services of Maurice Payne of Norfork will be at 2PM today at Lone Rock Baptist Church with the Revs. Doug and Paul Huskey officiating. Mr. Payne, 54, died Thursday (Nov 12, 1992) at the Baxter County Regional Health Center.
Burial will be in the Burnt Schoolhouse Cemetery with Lewis Bench, Dale Chapman, Warren Helms, A.L. Henderson, Lynn Rand and Mark Stewart serving as pallbearers.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn Payne, at home; three son, Mitchell Payne, Phillip Payne and Eric Payne, all of Norfork; three daughters, Debra Jeffery and Dorinda Payne, both of Norfork and Donna Dickerson of Mabelvale; two brothers, Bob Payne and Roger Payne, both of Norfork; two sisters Janice Lantz of Norfork and Rita Harrington of Mt. Home; his mother Anna Lee Payne of Norfork; a grandson, Daniel Dickerson of Mabelvale; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Elmo Payne, a brother, Leffel Payne and two sisters Kathryn Payne and Joyce Shelor.
Mr. Payne, owner of Payne Construction, was born May 28, 1938, at Norfork. He married Evelyn White June 21, 1958, at Norfork. A lifetime area resident, he was a member of the Lone Rock Baptist Church.
Roller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
