James Lucules Means, aged 81, died Wednesday, April 24, 1963 at his home in Woodberry. He was born July 6, 1881 in Calhoun County, the son of Bradford N. and Anna Tomlinson Means. On February 3, 1910 he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Morrison. Survivors include his widow; one son, J. L. Means, Jr. of El Dorado; four daughters, Mrs. Atlee Jones of Longview, Texas; Mrs. L. V. Harrell, Camden, Mrs. Allen McKinnie and Mrs. Travis Thomason of Hampton; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three brothersw, Huey and Eikner Means of Woodberry and Henry Means of Little Rock and one sister, Miss Kitty Means of Washington, D.C. Funeral services will be held at Hampton Church of Christ at 2:30 with burial at Means Cemetery. (Calhoun Herald - Hampton, Arkansas - April 25, 1963)
