Jessie R. Griffith, age 97, of Mountain Home, died Friday, March 4, 2005, at Good Samaritan Village. She was born November 11, 1907, in Llano, Texas, to Daniel Webster and Jessie (Pettit) Rouse. She married Horace Lee Griffith on July 11, 1929, at Georgetown, Texas. Mrs. Griffith was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She loved her family and her friends, and always enjoyed the activities of her church. Her great faith sustained her through many illnesses.
She and her husband first moved to Mountain Home in 1947, and after traveling the world because of his job, they retired here in 1980 from Houston, Texas.
She is survived by: her son: Lee Griffith and wife Carolyn Nelson Griffith: Mountain Home; 2 grandsons: Bill Griffith and wife, Beverly: Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Dan Griffith and wife Vivian: Dallas, Texas; 5 great-grandchildren: Christine, Laura, and Michael Griffith: Baton Rouge; and Ethan and Dylan Griffith: Dallas; a great-niece: Mary Ann Bruner: Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
