James Orville Cheney was the son of James Edward and Sarah Melvina (Moss) Cheney.

Alma M. Cheney, 93, of Mountain Home passed away Sunday morning at her home. She was born to Edward and Eva (Huhn) Gilliham on July 7, 1913 in Mount Olive, Arkansas. She and husband J. Orville Cheney owned and operated the Cheney Dry Goods store in Calico Rock for several years and was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Fidelis Club, both in Calico Rock.
She is survived by her son Dr. Max (Joan) Cheney of Mountain Home, 4 grandchildren: Mark Cheney of Mountain Home, Max (Jane) Cheney, Jr. of Pittsburg, PA, Andy (Sara) Cheney of Branson West, MO, and Dr. Lori (Jay Sabella) Cheney of Mountain Home; 4 great-grandchildren: Jacob, Kylee, Cayden, and Abigail; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.
