Mary D. McAuliff, 83, of Mountain Home died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008. A funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at Baxter Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m. Friday at Roller Funeral Home, with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m.
Mrs. McAuliff was born May 13, 1925, in Harvey, Ill., to Clarence A. and Anna E. Mercer Butcher. On March 21, 1947, she married Frederick T. McAuliff in Harvey. A retired secretary of Homewood-Flossmoore High School in Homewood, Ill., she moved to Mountain Home 29 years ago from Hazelcrest, Ill. Mrs. McAuliff was a founding member and past president of Hill 'N Hollow Quilt Guild and volunteered in Baxter Regional Medical Center nursery and thrift store.
She is survived by a son, Patrick McAuliff of Midway; a daughter, Mary Beth Markoff of Mountain Home; six grandchildren, Tristan, Scott and Amy McAuliff, David Bond, Jeremy Schoonover and Brianna Schoonover; one great-grandchild, Trista McAuliff; and two nephews, Richard and Thomas Sellin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Laurie Lynn Cornwall; a sister, Elizabeth Sellin; and a nephew, Robert Sellin.
