Son of Edward Dillon Willett & Luna Mae Blevins Willett.
Married Mrs. Opal Juanita Hodge Sanders, March 19, 1941, Baxter County, Arkansas.

Russell Willett, 82, a lifetime resident of Mountain Home, died at his home Monday, Oct. 18, 2004. He was born in Mountain Home Dec. 15, 1921, to Edward Dillon and Luna Mae Blevins Willett. He married Opal Hodge March 9, 1941, and they raised 11 children. He served in WWII in Germany. He worked on both Norfork and Bull Shoals dams. He was a farmer, worked in the coal mines in Colorado and Wyoming and was a boilermaker.

The last months of his life he was cared for at home by his children, as were his wishes. They will mourn the passing of this great man.

Mr. Russell Willett is survived by his six sons: Karel Sanders, James, Billy, Kenny, Charlie and Rusty Willett; three daughters, Ilene Stevenson, Alice Cranfill and Peggy Miller; one daughter-in-law, Chris Willett; 22 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal; sons Leon and Benny Willett; grandson Billy Franklin Willett; his parents; and two brothers.

Visitation will be noon-9 p.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Roller Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Oak Grove Cemetery with Pastor Gary Wise and the Rev. Harold Barnett officiating. His sons will be pallbearers, and sons-in-law George Stevenson, Eldon Cranfill and Jon Miller will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mevmorials may be made to Oak Grove Cemetery Maintenance Fund or to Hospice of the Ozarks.
