Barbara Jean (Harring) LeMere, 55, of Wichita Falls died Thursday, July 22, 2004, at W. Erle & Emma White Hospice Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Ivor Koch, pastor, officiating. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Green Bay, Wis., with Father Mike Ingold officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Mrs. LeMere was born to Nicholas and Dorothy (Konshak) Harring on Aug. 22, 1948, in Green Bay, Wis. She attended Lincoln grade school before transferring to St. Agnes Catholic School. She attended Franklin Junior High School and finished at West High School, graduating in 1966. She was proud of her many accomplishments while in school, but her fondest memory was marching with the West High band at the Indianapolis 500.

Barb married Richard (Dick) LeMere on Nov. 2, 1966, in Green Bay, Wis., and they began a 37-year romantic adventure that included 26 years of military life and raising three talented and beautiful daughters. Barb worked as a personnel specialist for the National Park Service in Anchorage, Alaska, and for the U.S. Air Force at Torrejon AB near Madrid, Spain. While in Spain she decided her talents were best suited for the secretarial field, made the transition and never looked back. She also worked as a secretary at Sheppard A.F.B. Public Affairs, I.G., and Legal Offices in Wichita Falls.

Barb and Dick decided to take an early retirement and bought a home in Horseshoe Bend, Ark. They planned to move this month but our heavenly Father decided she should move to a more permanent Home. We miss our wife, mother and friend terribly. In our grief we ask why Barbara? Her grandson, Josh, summed it up best by saying, "God must have needed a really good secretary."

Survivors include her husband, Richard (Dick) LeMere; three daughters, Dawn Loeffler of Wichita Falls, Julie Andrews and husband Ken of Beaumont, Texas, and Kathy Ziegler and husband Andreas (Zig) of Columbus Air Force Base, Mass.; a sister, Judy Harring Henning and husband Richard of Green Bay, Wis.; a brother, Roger Harring and wife Mary of LaCrosse, Wis.; her mother, Dorothy Harring of Green Bay, Wis.; and four grandchildren, Josh and Jake Loeffler and Jordyn and Kylea Andrews.
