Funeral services were conducted at the McClure Chapel for John H. Pitchford, 91, a retired farmer of Route 2, Mountain Home. Mr Pitchford a longtime resident of the Buford community, died at a local hospital last Saturday.
He is survived by his wife Mrs Maude Pitchford of Mountain Home; a daughter, Mrs Irene Larrieu of Tulsa, Okla.; four sons, Hobert of Gassville, Leo and Bruce of Mountain Home and Floyd Pitchford of Dixon, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
The son of W. A. Pitchford and Mary Smith Pitchford, Mr Pitchford was born at Seymour, Mo., on May 17, 1878. He moved to Baxter County 80 years ago, and was married to the former Maude Jordan in 1904. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.
Rev. Jim Fowler of Gainesville, Mo., and Rev. Donald Moore of Mountain Home officiated at the funeral services. Interment was in the Tucker Cemetery at Colfax, under the direction of the McClure Service.
Pallbearers were H. H. Burrow, Isaac Gilliland, Lloyd Stancil, Clinton Stancil, Joe Stancil and Truman Smith.
