Joseph was the son of Bisco Hamilton 'Ham' and Tempie Moody Gifford. He married Bessie Aug 27 1897. They had nine children, five boys and four girls.
This stone sits right next to the older stone of Joseph. The death dates differ on each stone. The family tree has the death date listed as Sep 7 1922. but I am not absolutely certain which date is correct

Mrs Bessie Gifford Dies Here Sunday Morning

Mrs Bessie Gifford, aged 65, died at the home of a son in East Calico Rock, early Sunday morning following a long illness.

She was born in the January 23, 1880 and practically all her life was spent in the vicinity of Newburg. She was married to Joe Gifford, who preceded her in death by several years. She was a member of the Christian church.

Surviving, are four sons, Jim Gifford of Calico Rock, Mervin Gifford of Wenatchee, Wash., Alfred and Jesse Gifford of Kansas City, Mo.; and four daughters, Mrs Mamie Neal and Mrs Naoma Roddy of Calico Rock, Mrs Zelma Garrison and Mrs Irene Crabtree of Kansas City.

The Funeral was held Monday, services being conducted by Rev W. T. Watson of this place. Burial was in Pleasant Grove cemetery.
