Exact information is unavailable, but it appears that this child-sized grave is that of James Magness, a son of James Washington Magness, Jr. & Elizabeth Carolia Sharp Magness, and it would appear that the birth and death dates would be prior to 1850.
This is one of 17 Magness or Magness related graves that are in the southeast corner of the Patton Cemetery on the banks of Crooked and Clear Creek. All of the graves are covered with limestone slabs. Most of the slabs are coffin shaped; however, this one apparently was covered with a house-like structure hewed from large limestone slabs. The slabs that formed the roof have fallen in and are now on top of the grave.
