This is one of 17 Magness or Magness related graves that are in the southeast corner of the Patton Cemetery on the banks of Crooked and Clear Creek. All of the graves are covered with limestone slabs. Most of the slabs are coffin shaped like this one. The large coffin shaped slabs for adult graves are generally 72 inches long by 24-1/2 inches wide at the widest point and 4 inches thick. It appears that the large slabs originally were placed on top of rock foundations, but most of the foundations have given away over the years, and in the case of this one, the slab has broken into several pieces.
