EASTERLY, Mrs. N.E. - Mrs. N.E. Easterly died early Sunday morning at the home of her son, John Easterly, at Fort Smith, the result of dropsy and other complications. The remains were brought to Springdale Monday morning and were met at the station by the members of the Eastern Star Lodge and escorted to the M.E. Church, South where funeral services were conducted by Rev. Cline. Interment in Bluff Cemetery. Mrs. Easterly had been in poor health for some time and some four weeks ago went to Fort Smith in the hope of benefiting by the change and to be at the home of her son at that place. Besides the son she is survived by a daughter, Miss Maud, who is teaching at Mulberry. Both were present at the funeral. Deceased was 65 years of age and was a member of the M.E. Church, South. The family had resided in Springdale for some time, the husband, W.S. Easterly, having died some three years ago. The children of the deceased request The News to extend their thanks to all for the kindnesses shown them and especially to the members of the Eastern Star Lodge.

EASTERLY, W.F. - W.F. Easterly died Sunday night at half past nine o'clock at his home on Meadow Street. The remains were interred in Bluff Cemetery Monday afternoon under the auspices of the local Masonic lodge. Funeral services were held at the residence, being conducted by Rev. J.P. McDonald, pastor of the M.E. Church, South. Deceased was born in Tennessee May 5, 1848 and had been a resident of Springdale for some time. His death was due to dropsy and a complication of diseases and he had been in ill health for several months. Deceased is survived by a widow and two children, a daughter and a son, the latter making his home at Fort Smith.

W.F. Easterly was born in Granger County, East Tennessee May 5, 1848 and died at his home in Springdale, Ark. Jan. 3, 1909. He moved to middle Tennessee near Tullahoma where he was united in marriage with Miss N.E. Jones June 7, 1871. In October 1872 they moved to Arkansas and lived in Howard, Franklin and Washington counties with the exception of four years spent in Joplin, Mo. Their home has been in Springdale since 1904. Five children were born to them; of the five two are living, Miss Maud of Springdale and J.G. Easterly who lives at Fort Smith. Bro. Easterly has been a member of the M.E. Church, South since 1873 and also a member of the Masonic fraternity since 1859. In the death of Bro. Easterly the community has lost one of its valuable citizens, the church and Masonic fraternities one of their members, his home the blessing of a loving companion and father. His funeral was conducted by the writer at their home in Springdale, interment under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity Jan. 4, 1909. He is gone but not forgotten.
