Thomas was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina to John Ashford Gore and Rachel (Spencer).
Thomas and brothers James (Jim) and William left Spartanburg and moved Elyton Ala., which is now Birmingham. They moved to Arkansas from Irondale, a suburb of Birmingham. James b.1825 lived with Thomas and moved to Arkansas with him. This was in 1880, Thomas and most of his family born after 1880 are buried in Millwee Cemetery in Sevier County, Arkansas.
Thomas had three wives and between the three wives, he had sixteen children that lived to be adults.
*Louis Clay Died in the Civil War
*Robert Hayden stayed in Ala. and died there.
Thomas had 2 more daughters not listed below, there burial sites have not been located.
Emily F. Gore Woods b.abt.1845 d.July 3,1895, was bitten by a rattlesnake while picking blackberries and died the same day. She married Joe Wood in 1872 in Ala. They had 5 kids, Frank, Dicey, Thomas, Elbridge and Elbert.
Mary "Mollie" Cathrine Gore Matthews born April 17,1875 d.unknown. She married Will. V. Mathews, their children were W.Thompson & Anna Belle.
