Gilbert Darrell (Gib) Studyvin, 48, prominent grocer of Gravette, died Dec. 30 at his home. Born Sept. 19, 1926, in Mulberry, Kan., he was the son of William and Hazel Minson Studyvin and a member of the Christian Church. He had owned and operated the IGA Foodliner in Gravette for the past 23 years and was active in church and civic work including Boy Scouts. He was a veteran of World War II, Korean conflict, a member of the American Legion, 40 et 8, Lions Club and the volunteer fire department.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Menniger Studyvin, to whom he was married June 8, 1952, in Pittsburg, Kan.; four daughters, Mrs. Debra Velez, Little Rock, Mrs. Mary Beth Mitchell, Gravette, Pamela Ann and Judy Studyvin of the home; his mother, Pittsburg, Kan.; two brothers, Bill Studyvin, Marion, Kan., and Bob Studyvin, Kansas City, Kan.; and one sister, Mr. David Shepherd, Lees Summit, Mo.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Gravette First Christian Church with Dr. A. P. Vohs officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Callison-McKinney of Gravette.
