Mrs. Evelyn Virginia Babbitt Cowart age 81, of Benton, died Saturday March 7, 2009. She was born July 18, 1927, in Kirby, Arkansas. Evelyn was a housewife. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Dolly Dickerson Babbitt, husband, Ocie Cowart, son, Michael Cowart and a sister, Helen Rudolph.
Survivors, sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Nancy Cowart, Little Rock; Bruce and Vickie Cowart, Benton; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Mike Edwards, Benton; Sharon and Howard Richard, Benton; brother, Bill Babbitt, Bryant; grandchildren, Chris Cowart, Justin Cowart, Tricia Cowart, Michelle Marshall, Josh Lorenson and Lauren Landers, and great-grandchildren, Ty Marshall, Kaylee Marshall, Keilie Lorenson, Lane Lorenson and Peyton Owens.
Funeral services were 1:00 p.m. Monday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at New Rosemont Cemetery. Minister was the Rev. Curtis Kyle.
Pallbearers were Chris Cowart, Josh Lorenson, Justin Cowart, Howard Richard, Mike Edwards and Ty Marshall. [from Ashby Funeral Home online obituary]
