Della J. Hayes of Marianna, Arkansas, passed away on January 31, 2012, at the Crest Park Nursing Home in Marianna. She was born on January 13, 1919, in Nathan, Arkansas, to Henry and Allie Jones.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Marianna, and enjoyed porcelain painting, gardening, cooking, and being with friends and family at every opportunity.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. P. Hayes, and her siblings, Eulaille Garrett and Thurman Jones.
Della is survived by her nephews, Phil Jones and his family, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Todd Jones and his family, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, a niece, Betty Burnett and her family, of Sheridan, Arkansas, a sister-in-law, Jimmie Jones, of Benton, Arkansas, and other relatives in Arkansas and Texas. She is also survived by a wonderful and caring family of friends in Marianna and throughout East Arkansas.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m.on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at the Marianna Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Ike Mohr officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Marianna.
Della lived every day to its fullest, and unselfishly gave of her time and her extraordinary talents to serve others.
