William C. Orr, 85, of Sidney, formerly of Ash Flat, died Sept. 7, 2004, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born Jan. 5, 1919, in Ash Flat, he was the son of John and Sophia Hotchkiss Orr.
He married Venita Faye Bates March 6, 1946, in Batesville.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a farmer. He was a member of the Ash Flat Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Orr, of the home; a son, William Layne Orr of Hardy; two daughters -- Sandra Luene Zeigler and Debi Zeiger, both of Hardy; a sister, Goldene Norris of Ash Flat; a brother, J.T. Orr of Ash Flat; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wayne Orr; and three sisters -- Virgie King, Faye Nix and Gladys Davis.
A memorial service was Sept. 9 at Higginbotham Chapel in Hardy with burial following at Wiles Cemetery in Ash Flat. Arrangements were under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Services of Hardy.
