Mr. Melvin "PETE" R. Brewer, of Alma(Crawford County), Arkansas, died Friday, March 27, 2009, in Van Buren. Mr. Brewer was 81 years, 3 months, and 19 days old. He was a retired Repairman for Garrision Furniture Company and the Allen Canning Company; and a veteran of the United States ARMY-World War II.
Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife: Betty Brewer.
He is survived by a son: David Brewer, of Alma, Arkansas; six brothers: Alvin Brewer, Dalvin, Brewer, Arthur Brewer, Lee Brewer, Orville Brewer, and Miles Coatney; three precious grandchildren; 6 special great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives; and dear friends.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers were: Arthur Brewer, Orville Brewer, John Clift, Christopher Brewer, Kenny Brewer, and Tim Brewer.
He was laid to rest at the Newberry Cemetery.
