Clark Robinson Cowan, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Cowan, was born in Rogers, Arkansas February 15, 1901. In this place he grew to manhood, received his high school education, graduating in 1920. After his graduation from high school he entered the State University at Fayetteville but because of failing health he was forced to return home. Since that time he has had employment in local places of business and in each instance has made good, gaining and holding the confidences of those for whom he worked. In early boyhood Clark was converted and joined the Central Methodist church and remained a faithful and consistent member of the same till his going away. He was especially active in the Sunday school and Epworth League. These two departments of the church will miss him greatly in days to come. According to the testimony of his father he was always an obedient son and from the lips of all who knew him come words of highest praise and commendation. Clark had a long hard fight and in our way of thinking lost the battle; but in reality he has only shifted the heavy load of an earthly existence and has received in exchange a more favorable location in the land of the skies where unhampered by the loss of health and by the failures incident to this world he can move on forever where all these things are unknown. His going was like his life - peaceful. On the beautiful May morning of the twenty-ninth he slipped away but we shall see him again in the "Land of the Unsetting Sun." Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at the home of his parents on West Walnut street by Rev. Womack, pastor of the Central Methodist church and burial will be in the cemetery at Bentonville.
