Jessie Capps, 87, of Benton died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009.
She was born March 16, 1922, in White County to Edgar Murray and Margaret Sprague Murray.
Mrs. Capps married Andrew Capps on June 11, 1938, in Humphrey. They resided most of their years in Benton. She retired from Saline Memorial Hospital after 13 years.
Mrs. Capps was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include six children, Bernice Trent of Blanchard, Okla., Florence Smith of Haskell, Andrew Capps Jr. of Lonsdale, Johnny Capps of Prue, Okla., Helen Taylor of Benton and Tommy Capps of Haskell; 27 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Rosemont Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Family comments: Her pastime was gardening, raising rabbits and seeing her grandkids. She lived her last few years in Oklahoma with her son Johnny and raised chickens and goats. She loved sitting at her window and watching her animals.
