ROGERS — James Newton Gidney, 81, of Rogers died July 30, 2004, at his home. He was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Chanute, Kan, to Charles Francis and Roxanna Gertrude Reno Gidney. He married Delores Criswell on Nov. 5, 1943. They moved to Arkansas in October 1981. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a pilot in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the VFW and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed golf, tennis and model trains.
Survivors include his wife, Delores of the home; one son, Steven J. Gidney of Pea Ridge; one daughter, Susan J. Gidney of Tavernier, Fla.; one niece, Cheryl Greer of Independence, Kan.; one nephew, Mike Gidney of Independence.
Private family services will be held.
Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Service, Rogers.
