He was born in Kansas City, Kan., to Wesley Evans and Daisy C. Thornbrue Hogue. He moved to Gentry in 1927 from Kansas City. He was an Army veteran serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He later re-enlisted in the Army and served during the Vietnam War and retired from the military service in 1973. He attended Oklahoma State Tech for Commercial Art and Printing. He had enjoyed painting and artwork since age 14. He served on the Gentry City Council from 1981 to 1986, was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the VFW, the First Baptist Church in Gentry since 1957, the Masonic Lodge 222 F&AM and the Gentry Chapter 359 Order of the Eastern Star. He married Lucille Dixon on Jan. 22, 1946.
He was 85 when he passed away in Silaom Springs Memorial Hosptial, Silaom Springs, AR.
