Velma Irene Smith, 95, of Mountainburg died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, in her home. She was a home-maker, widow of Frank Smith, finished eighth grade at Walker School, a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church of Fayetteville and married Frank Smith on Jan. 15, 1933. She was preceded in death by two sons, Dink and Bobby Smith, her parents, three brothers, one grandson, two daughters-in-law and two sons-in-law.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today at Ocker of Alma Funeral Home with burial at Steward Cemetery, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Downs of Spiro and Kathleen O'Kelley of Rudy; four sons, James, Ronald and Randall Smith, all of Mountainburg, and Frank C. Smith of Fort Smith; three sisters, Oletha Young of Tulsa, Ann Peters of Rudy and Edwina Ball of Fort Smith; a brother, Harlan Brammer of Mountainburg; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters.

Memorials may be made to Steward Cemetery, c/o Ronald Smith, 9024 Lancaster Road, Mountainburg, AR.
