Carlton C. “Dink” Smith, 70, of Alma died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 20, 1935, in Springdale. He was of the Baptist faith, an Army veteran, a member of Black Diamond No. 549 of Bonanza, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, 32nd Degree Valley of Fort Smith, and a real estate and insurance salesman.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Steward Cemetery in Alma under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eula Faye Smith of the home; a daughter, Carla Young of Alma; a son, Carlton Curtis Smith Jr. of Ozark; his mother, Velma Smith of Mountainburg; two sisters, Linda Downs of Spiro and Kathleen O’Kelly of Rudy; four brothers, Ronald, Randall and James Smith, all of Mountainburg, and Clois Smith of Fort Smith; and three grandchildren, Kendel and Brayden Smith and Nicole Young.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Miller, Billy Holt III, Grant Nally, Eric Nally, Randy DeLaet and Cliff Gregory. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald, Randall, Clois, James and Levi Smith, and Jeremiah Smith and Tommy Downs.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Steward Cemetery, c/o Ronald Smith, 9024 Lancaster Road, Mountainburg, AR 72946.

Eula Faye Smith, 69, of Alma died Tuesday, June 21, 2006, in her home. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was born Feb. 1, 1937, in Greenwood to the late Victor A. and Cora (McCorkel) Dufour, and was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton “Dink” Smith.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2006, at Steward Cemetery in Alma under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.

She is survived by one daughter, Carla Young of Alma; one son, Carlton Curtis Smith Jr. of Ozark; one sister, Carolyn Nally of Fort Smith; and three grandchildren, Kendel Smith, Brayden Smith and Nicole Young.

Pallbearers: Bruce Miller, Grant Nally, Eric Nally, Billy Holt III, James Smith and Ronald Smith. Honorary pallbearers: Clois Smith, Randall Smith, Dale Downs, Freddy O’Kelley and Bob Marsh.

The family will visit with friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 917 U.S. 64 East in Alma.
